Boonville - Leonard L. Lenaghen, 87, of LaChausse Road, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boonville, where he had resided since April 1, 2009. He was born in Oriskany on July 13, 1921, to John and Ada Jacob Lenaghen. As a child he moved with his family to Westernville before settling on a farm on the South Hill Road in Steuben in 1945. He was employed at the former Bossert Manufacturing in Utica and at Rome Cable Company prior to working for many years as a machine operator in the laundry departments of the Rome State School and Marcy State Hospital. Mr. Lenaghen retired in 1984, and moved to Boonville in 2000. Leonard was a member of the Boonville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Surviving are four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Harold of Frenchville, John, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Steuben, Richard J. and his wife, Greeta, of Palmer, AK, and Carlton H. of Boonville; and one sister, Mrs. Nora Wiedmer of Boonville. He was predeceased by three brothers, Loren, Leon, and Kenneth. A memorial service will be on Saturday, May 2 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at the corner of Woodgate and Valley View Drives in Boonville.
