Lee E. Schoff, 66, of State Route 26, husband of Ruth Stanley Schoff, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, after a long illness. Lee was born August 28, 1940 in Rome, a son of Carl F. and Lillian May Elphick Schoff. He grew up in Rome where he graduated from St. Aloysius Academy with the Class of 1958. From 1959 to 1962 he served active duty with the U.S. Navy, and served in the Navy Reserves until 1963. Following his military service he was employed at Revere Copper & Brass Co. of Rome, and in the early 1960ï¿(TM)s he moved to West Leyden. From 1978 to Dec. 31, 1996 Lee was employed at Lewis County General Hospital on the maintenance staff. On August 13, 1982 he was united in marriage with Ruth Stanley on Mohawk Hill. He has been a member of the American Heart Assoc. since 1988, serving as President of the Lewis Co. Chapter from 1990 to 1993, and also served on the committee of the now famous Americaï¿(TM)s Greatest Heart Run and Walk since 1993. Mr. Schoff was a member of St. Maryï¿(TM)s Nativity Church, West Leyden, and the Lowville American Legion Post 162. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Shari Noble of Hubbardsville, Kelly Nellis-Chambers and husband Mike of Boonville, and Danielle Fay and husband Shawn of Boonville; one son: Patrick T. Schoff and wife Lisa of Boonville; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters: Mrs. Michael (Susan) Foley of Maine, Sister Diane Schoff of Schenectady, and Mrs. Gary (JoAnn) Lutz of Gouverneur; one brother: Terry Schoff and wife Monica of Rome; and many nieces and nephews. A prayer service for Mr. Schoff will be at 9 am Saturday at the Trainor Funeral Home, 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Maryï¿(TM)s Nativity Church, West Leyden, with Rev. Lawrence Marullo, Pastor, as celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Maryï¿(TM)s Cemetery, West Leyden. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Leeï¿(TM)s memory to the American Heart Assoc., P.O.
