Kenneth L. Furman

Forestport- Kenneth Leroy Furman, 61, passed away suddenly, after a brief illness, at his residence on Monday, June 13, 2016. Affectionately known as Kenny, he was born in Utica, on October 24, 1954, a son of Clifford Leroy and Iva Mae Potter Furman. He grew up in Stittville, where he attended elementary school, graduating from Holland Patent High School, with the Class of 1971. While in high school, he was a member of the Basketball team and a member of FFA. He married Zada Rebe; later the couple were divorced. Kenny loved and enjoyed animals of all kinds; for several years he enjoyed part time employment on the Edwards Farm near Stittville. After completing high school, for many years Kenny was employed as a truck driver for Town of Marcy Highway Department. Later for many years he was employed in building construction for several area contractors. Mr. Furman was a member of the Stittville United Methodist Church; at age 18, he joined the Stittville Fire Department, where he was an active member for many years. He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, Clifford and Iva Mae Furman, of Remsen, he is survived by two daughters, Stacy D'Aquisto, Cold Brook and Melissa (Kevin) Bronk, Stittville; five grandchildren, Zada and Abigail D'Aquisto, Sarah and Rick Jones and Robert Bronk; and one brother, Harold C. (Sharon) Furman, Forestport. Kenny is also survived by his beloved feline friend, "Butch." His Funeral will be Monday, June 20, 2016, at 1:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Percival Pauley, pastor of the Stittville United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Townsend Cemetery, Stittville.
