Copenhagen - Kenneth C. Patrick, 64, formerly of Cataract Street and the Lewis County Extended Care Facility in Lowville, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica, after a long illness. Ken was born in Buffalo, on April 5, 1944, to Charles and Margaret Shanahan Patrick. He grew up in Buffalo and moved to Merry Hill Road near Boonville in 1961. On July 24, 1965, Mr. Patrick was united in marriage with Anna Mae Gorzalkowski, at St. Peter's Church in Lowville. The couple made their home in Boonville prior to moving to Jewett City, CT where Ken was employed for several years at Federal Paper Board. He later worked for many years as a machinist at General Dynamic Submarine Manufacturing Co. of Groton, CT, from where he retired. The couple lived in Norwich, CT for a period of time before moving to Happy Acres in Copenhagen. Mr. Patrick greatly enjoyed his employment at General Dynamic, in addition to hunting, processing deer meat and playing bingo. In addition to his wife, Mr. Patrick is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles Patrick of Lowville, and Mark and Vicki Patrick of Port Leyden; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Bertha M. Snyder and her husband, Terry, of Copenhagen, Betty Jean Silva and her husband, Kevin, of Port Leyden, Kathy Patrick of Lowville, Amanda Molor and her husband, John, of Copenhagen, and Rose Patrick of Carthage; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith Patrick and his wife, Donna, of Lockport, and Robert Patrick and his wife, Debbie, of Boonville; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Rose Chapple of Corfu, NY, Kathleen Kent and her husband, George, of Cheektowaga, Elaine Phillips and her husband, Wally, of Goodyear, AZ, Bernice Kaiser and husband, Ronald, of Camden, and Patricia Lohr and husband, John, of Lee Center; twenty grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Landon; and two step grand- children. He was predeceased by a son, Timothy, on September 5, 2008, and a granddaughter, Heather. His funeral will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, where Pastor Richard Beaumont of the River of Life Fellowship Church in Copenhagen will officiate. Interment will be in the spring in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. Calling hours are Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
