Boonville- Kay Morrison, 84, of Pine Lane, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica, New York after a short illness.
Kay was born on August 4th, 1938 in Syracuse, NY to the late George Morrison and Mrs. Herbert Nichols. Kay resided at Rome Developmental Center for 45 years until April of 1988 when she moved to her forever home at Sheehan IRA operated by Upstate Cerebral Palsy. Kay leaves behind her brother, George Morrison III and many lifelong friends she associated with through her home and Day Habilitation Program.
The last few years of Kay’s life were focused on her health and comfort. Prior to this, Kay attended Schoonmaker Day Habilitation, retiring in September of 2018. Kay especially enjoyed massages and took pride in caring for her personal belongings, especially her purses and stuffed animals. Kay also took pride in her appearance. Kay enjoyed the holidays and spending time with family and friends. Kay looked forwarded to the family picnic’s that were held yearly with her brother George. Kay was a strong willed women and even though she could not voice it she was able to let everyone know what she wanted. Kay had a special relationship with many staff especially Diana Millick and Tracy McIntyre. Kay loved a good joke and a fun sense of humor. Kay will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Calling hours for Kay are going to be Monday, September 12th from 1:30pm-4:30pm at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, NY, followed by a service conducted by Pastor Jack Ford, pastor of Boonville Methodist Church. The burial will be on Tuesday, September 13th at 12pm at Onondaga Valley Cemetery in Syracuse.
