Constableville- June C. Scheidelman, 80, a former longtime resident of High St., widow of G. Frederick Scheidelman, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, with her loving family at her side at Oneida Health Care, Oneida, after a brief illness. For nearly two years, June had made her home with her daughter and son in law; Shelley and Steven Petersen, Oneida. A native of Utica, June was born on May 30, 1925, a daughter of Elwin S. and Marghetta Longway Schiffer. She grew up in Utica, and then in Constableville, where she attended Constableville High School. On June 12, 1943, June was united in marriage with G. Frederick Scheidelman at St. Maryï¿(TM)s Church, Constableville. After their marriage the couple settled on and purchased the Scheidelman Family Farm on High St. which they operated until 1968, when they sold the farm to their son, Bruce. Mrs. Scheidelman was a member of St. Maryï¿(TM)s Church of Constableville, where she taught religious education, served as director of the church choir, and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Active in many community affairs in Constableville, June served as Assistant Coach for Constableville Little League, and for many years she was very active in the management of, and marched as a trumpet player with the "Cvillairs" ï¿" the Constableville Village Marching Band. For over 60 years, never missing a year, one of her greatest enjoyments was her participation in the preparation and serving of the "Great Ham Dinner" in conjunction with the Constableville Firemenï¿(TM)s Field Days. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Carol and Randall Huta of Piseco, Joan and David Myers of Boonville, and Shelley and Steven Petersen of Oneida. She was predeceased by her son Bruce F. Scheidelman in 1993. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law: Karen Scheidelman of Lowville; fourteen grandchildren: Russell and Mark Huta, Holly Schissel, Beth Pick, Scott Scheidelman, Lori Bernard, Chris, Greg, Andy, Cheryl, and Erin Myers, Ben, Zach, and Anna Peterson; thirteen great-grandchildren, and at the present time June was joyfully anticipating the birth of two more great-grandchildren, and she is survived by a nephew: Donald and wife Eva Shambo of Constableville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm Saturday at St. Maryï¿(TM)s Church, Constableville, with Rev. Lawrence Marullo, Pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in Constableville Rural Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 pm Friday at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St., Boonville.
