Julia Claire "Judy" Wason Port Leyden-Julia Claire "Judy" Wason, 62 of Thomas Road, passed away at her residence on Friday, December 30, 2005, after a long illness. Julia was born in Port Leyden on August 1, 1943, a daughter of the late John W. and Leafa Corola Wason. In 1947 she moved with her family to their home on Thomas Road where she had since resided. Although a victim of Cerebral Palsy, she led a vigorous and happy life. Her cheerful smile will be missed by her friends at the Jeff Schoonmaker Day Hab Center on Potato Hill Road near Boonville, and by her many friends, family and neighbors. While at Schoonmaker Judy was active as a Telephone Receptionist for the center. She is survived by three brothers and one sister; John Wason and his wife, Rosella, Sevierville, Tenn., James Wason and his wife, Shirley, Chase Mills, NY., Joseph H. Wason, Port Leyden, one sister; Louise Wason Wilson and her husband, Paul, Port Leyden, and many nieces and nephews who also mourn her passing. "Aunt Judy" was truly loved. Always an avid advocate for the handicapped, Judy would want any memorial contributions to be made to United Cerebral Palsy, Jeff Schoonmaker Day Hab, Potato Hill Road Boonville, NY 13309. Her Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2006, at 1:00 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Joan Ripp, Pastor of the Talcottville and Hawkinsville United Methodist Churches will officiate. Interment will be in Port Leyden Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M.
