Woodgate- Juanita L. Vincent, 90, passed away at her residence, while surrounded by the loving care of her family, on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. She was born in Robbins, TN, on December 14, 1924, the eldest daughter of Clifford and Nora Newport Lavender. Later she moved to the Syracuse area. On June 20, 1942, Juanita was united in marriage with Sherman Vincent, in Great Bend, PA. Thereafter the couple lived in Syracuse, where Mrs. Vincent was employed by NY Telephone Co. first as an information operator and then as a clerk in the plant department. She retired in 1987 and relocated to her present home in Woodgate. Mr. Vincent died in 1974. Mrs. Vincent was a member of Forestport Presbyterian Church and she greatly enjoyed collecting frogs and raising flowers. She is survived by five daughters, Betty Lou Helsel, Woodgate, Kathleen Wells, Manlius, Laura (Victor) Vanderstelt, Syracuse, Sharon Lavender, Old Forge and J. Gail (Kenneth) Hoyt, New Windsor. Juanita was predeceased by a daughter, Diana Boycheck, and by three sons, David, Sherman, Jr., and Paul. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; five sisters, Joan Knox, Cheyanne, WY, Marguerite Lavender, CO and Carol Covey, Washington and Betty Kolodjcyzk, Syracuse, Ethel Schuyler, New Hampshire. She was predeceased by sisters, Letha, Violet, Frieda, and Helen and one brother, James. Services will be Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment to follow in Woodgate Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 12 Noon until the funeral at the funeral home.
