Utica- Joyce A. Inslee, 70, a former resident of Boonville and Remsen, widow of George E. passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. She was born in Rochester, on May 13, 1946, a daughter of Arthur R. and Mary A. Steele Carr, Sr. Joyce grew up in Walworth, NY, in Wayne County and graduated from Wayne Central High School, Ontario Center, with the Class of 1964. Thereafter she furthered her education at Weber State College in Ogden, Utah. In 1990, she moved to Boonville, where she was employed at Great American and as a waitress at the Hulbert House. In 2004, Joyce moved to Remsen before moving to her present home in Utica in 2006. Additionally she was employed on the New York State Thruway at the Clifton Springs Rest Area; her last employment was as a waitress at Denny's Restaurant in North Utica. On March 27, 1972, Joyce was united in marriage with George E. Inslee, in Newark, NY. Mr. Inslee passed away on August 4, 1989. Mrs. Inslee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Whitesboro. Joyce is survived by two daughters, Doretta K. (Michael) Hapeman, Remsen, Tammy J. Inslee and her friend, Juan R. Colon, Clermont, FLA, and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Hope Elizabeth Inslee, in 2014. Also surviving is a step daughter Connie M. (George) Carmody, Bath, NY; a step son George E. Inslee, Canandaigua; one brother, Ralph E. Carr, Benfield, CA and two sisters, Linda E. Carr, Canandaigua and Donna M. Carr, Vanetten, NY. She was predeceased by a brother, Arthur R. Carr, Jr. Her Funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Bishop Herb Bloss of The Church of Latter Day Saints of Whitesboro, will officiate. Interment will be in Fairchild Cemetery, Remsen. Calling hours are Wednesday from12 Noon until the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association 120 Lomond Ct. Utica, NY 13502, or to American Cancer Society 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502.
