Joseph W. Foll

Ava- Joseph W. Foll, 78, husband of the late Joan, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015, at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, after a brief illness. He was born in West Branch, on April 18, 1937, a son of William J and Julia Satterly Foll. He was a life resident of Beartown Road and graduated from West Leyden High School. Thereafter, Mr. Foll served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, from 1956 until his honorable discharge in October, 1962. On October 31, 1962, Joe was united in marriage with Joan C. McMahon, in Verona. Mrs. Foll passed away on February 17, 2014. For many years Mr. Foll was employed as manager of Caswell Supply Feed Stores in Boonville and in Rome. Later he was employed as a fuel truck driver for Boonville Division of Mohawk Valley Oil Co. Joe was a person who loved his country and was proud of his service to his country as a U.S. Marine. He greatly loved his family and could always be counted on to help others in a calm and understanding nature. He greatly enjoyed hunting, gardening, farming and bowling. Mr. Foll was an avid fan of the New York Yankee's. He is survived by his four children, Ann Yauger (Jeremy Watts), Rome, Joseph W. Foll, Jr. Point Rock, Robert T. (Tabitha L.) Foll, and Carol S. Foll, all of Ava; six grandchildren, Nicole Watts, Christopher Watts, Courtney Foll, Cheyenne Foll, Joseph Foll, III and Mariah Foll. Visitation will be on Monday, April 27, from 5-8 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Interment will be private at the convenience of his family at Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Lee.
