Boonville- John A. Karpinski, 83, of East Road, husband of Eleanor, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 3, 2018, at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. Affectionately known as Paul, he was born in Turin, on September 4, 1935, a son of Joseph and Anna Waligora Karpinski. He grew up on the East Road and received his education at Port Leyden Central School. For many years thereafter, Paul was employed on farms on the East Road, near Boonville. In the late 1960s he began many years of employment with Swartout Construction Co., Boonville and Joe Smith Paving Company, Constableville, where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator. For many years he also operated a saw mill and was a self-employed carpenter in construction of homes and garages with his son in law, Dean Briot. Paul was united in marriage with Eleanor I. Baker, on December 12, 1959, in Harrisville. This was a loving union which endured for 55 years until Eleanor passed away on November 14, 2014. Paul greatly enjoyed attending the Fly Wheels and Pulleys annual show in Constableville and he found much enjoyment in collecting toy tractors, trucks and farm machinery. Mr. Karpinski will be fondly remembered as being a very hard working person who devoted his life to helping farmers and people wherever he was and however he was able to. Paul greatly loved his wife, Eleanor and his family; he is survived by his children: Melinda (Dave) Moscicki, Lauri Karpinski, Deborah Briot, and Michael (Mary Ann) Karpinski. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Jackie Karpinski, on September 11, 2017. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Brad Moscicki, Stacey Moscicki, Jamie Karpinski, Matt Briot, Justin Briot and finance Claire Brouty, Evan Briot, Tia Briot, Kayla (Brian) Perry, Kari (Kevin) Williams, Lacey (Daniel) Egnew, Dalton Schultz, Kenzie Karpinski and Kaden Kaprinski; great grandchildren, Ayden Mayer, Carter Briot Maya Perry and Eli Perry. He was predeceased by a great granddaughter, Elaina Marie Briot. Also surviving is a twin sister, Pauline Germanski, Talcottville. Paul was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Stanley, Raymond; five sisters, Georgeana Kolock, Charlotte Liss, Stella Doolen, Florence Wieczerzak, and Jennie Lee. He is also survived by Dave Lee, a longtime companion of Jackie and by Dean Briot an ex son in law. His Funeral will be Saturday, December 8, at 12 Noon at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where calling hours will be Saturday, from 10 A.M. until 12 Noon. Interment will be in the spring, in St. Josephs Cemetery, Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Company Ambulance Fund, P.O.
