John C. Kurowski

June 30, 1937 — May 23, 2015

Town of Lee- John C. Kurowski, Jr. 77, of State Route 26, husband of Sandy, passed away at home on Saturday, May 23, 2015, while under the loving care of his family and Hospice. John was born on June 30, 1937 in the Town of Lee, a son of John and Katherine Sondej Kurowski. John graduated with the West Leyden Central School Class of 1954. On July 18, 1959 Mr. Kurowski was united in marriage with Sandra Kler at Transfiguration Church, Rome. Following their marriage the couple settled at their current residence, where for many years John operated a dairy farm. Following his retirement from farming, John was employed for Rigalls Construction Co., Westmoreland, and more recently for the Beeches Conference Center, Rome in the maintenance department. John found great joy "puttering and tinkering" on just about anything. He enjoyed working on his automobiles and operating his tractor, he will be fondly remembered as an all-around handyman. In addition to his wife Sandy, John is survived by his daughter, Kelley Wiedemann and her significant other Warren Passmore, Stittville; his grandchildren: Grant and his wife, Megan Wiedemann, III, and Diedre Wiedemann and her significant other Steven Redmond, Rome; five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Genevieve Kozlowski and Walter Kurowski. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 29, at 11:00am at Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Lee. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, New York 13413.
