Joanne A. Sattler

Boonville- Joanne A. Sattler, 88, of State Rt. 294, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at her residence while under the loving care of her close friends and caregivers, under the direction of Hospice. A native and life resident of Boonville, Joanne was born on August 1, 1930, a daughter of Frank E. and Hazel Meurer Sattler. She graduated from Boonville Central School; thereafter she attended and graduated from Utica School of Commerce. For many years Miss Sattler operated a secretarial service business, first in Boonville and later in Utica. Her business included typing, photo coloring, mimeographing and direct mail work. She was also a very talented artist who designed commercial advertising for many companies in central New York. In 1954, Joanne accepted a position as Boonville area correspondent for the Syracuse Herald American Newspaper. Joanne was a member of The First Baptist Church, Boonville and she greatly enjoyed cooking and baking. She also loved her feline pets and feeding and watching birds. She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins and by several close friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Koster and Marion Brown and a life companion, Elbert Chapin. In keeping with her wishes Joanne was donated to medical science. A private interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
