Port Leyden - JoAnn M. Dager, 76, of Moose River Road, wife of Kenneth, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2019 at Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville. She was born in Clifton Springs, NY, on September 29, 1942 a daughter of Roy and Gertrude Browne Clark. She grew up in Little Falls, graduating with the Class of 1959 from St. Marys Academy, later receiving her Associates Degree in Accounting from Jefferson Community College, Watertown. After her high school graduation, JoAnn was employed at the Allegro Shoe Factory in Little Falls, where she met Kenneth Robert Dager. The couple married on May 28, 1961 in Herkimer. Following their marriage the couple moved to Waverly, PA, before settling in Watertown, NY. While in Watertown, JoAnn was employed as an executive secretary for Nationwide Insurance Co. Previous positions in bookkeeping and accounting included United Way, Watertown Foundation, Garnes Building Supply, and CREDO. JoAnn retired from her position as Chief Executive Officer of Planned Parenthood of NNY in 2009. The couple moved from Watertown to their current residence on the Moose River Road in Port Leyden upon retirement. JoAnn loved the outdoors. She found great joy being surrounded by nature; going for walks and hiking especially in the Limekiln Wilderness area and watching animals. She also enjoyed gardening. JoAnn also cherished the time spent at the familys camp on Otter Lake. JoAnn is survived by her husband Kenneth R. Dager, daughter Linda (David) Valin, Wilton, NH, grandchildren: Greg (Clarice) Davis, Lyndebourgh, NH, Cassandra Katie Valin and Keith Valin, both of Wilton, N.H, and great-granddaughter Eliann Davis. Also surviving is her brother Kenneth (Joan) Clark, Utica, a sister-in-law Reta Kelly, Utica, several nieces and nephews, special cousins, and a good friend Pastor Joan Ripp. Services will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
