Talcottville- Joan M. (Sullivan) Linck, 71, passed away peacefully, while surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Joanie is survived by her fiancé, Tim Niznik.
Affectionately known as “Joanie,” she was born in Talcottville, NY, on January 4, 1954, a daughter of Patrick and Eleanor Genter Sullivan. Joanie grew up in Talcottville and received her education at Boonville and then Adirondack Central School, graduating with the Class of 1972.
On September 9, 1972, Joanie was united in marriage with Gerald “Jerry” Linck. This was a loving union of 34 years, until Jerry, who was a supervisor at Boonville Division of Ethan Allen, passed away on December 8, 2006.
Joanie will be fondly remembered for her years of employment for Adirondack Central Schools, Boonville, as a Bus Driver and Bus Monitor. Joanie possessed a great love for her students and especially those with special needs, with her affection carrying over to their families. They left a lasting impression on Joanie throughout the remainder of her life. She found much joy from working with her life-long best friend, Tina Holland.
Joanie was known for her generosity, boundless energy, and an incredible ability to always see the best in people. She was at her happiest when supporting others, always giving more than she would take. Joanie possessed a special place in her heart for the underdog. She had an amazing sense of humor and loved her friends and family fiercely.
A devoted mother, Joanie is survived by her two children, daughter Brandy (Linck) Crofoot and son, Kevin (Melissa) Linck; with her loved ones, Joanie leaves a legacy of kindness and unwavering support for those who needed it most. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren; Jenna, Paige and Troy Crofoot, Alexandria (Cody) VanderBaan and Patrick, Anna and Aaron Linck. Joanie also cherished her role as a great –grandmother to five great grandchildren, Jace, Wyatt, Ella, Sawyer and Avery VanderBaan. She cherished and found immense joy in watching her great grandchildren grow. Also surviving are her sisters, Patricia Robson, Susan Spink, Donna Wilson and brothers, James Sullivan and Richard (Donna) Sullivan.
In addition to her husband, Jerry, Joanie was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Kessler, and her brother, William Sullivan.
Joanie wished to extend her deepest gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff at Upstate Cancer Center, as well as the dedicated team at Lewis County Hospice for their extraordinary care and support throughout her journey. Their compassion provided her with comfort and dignity in her final years.
Although Joanie is no longer with us, her kindness, strength and love will remain in our hearts forever.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A celebration of Joanie’s life will be held on March 1st, 2025, from 12pm to 3pm at the Constableville Fire Department, located at 3000 Main Street, Constableville, NY, 13325. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lewis County Hospice, 7514 South State St. Lowville, New York 13367. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
