Boonville- Joan Ann Smith, 88, of Lovers Lane, wife of Wilbur (Butch), passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2020, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where she had resided since February, 2020. Joan was born in Doylestown, PA, on March 30, 1932, where she grew up and received her education. On August 10, 1949, Joan was united in marriage with Wilbur E. Smith, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where the couple resided for many years until relocating to Boonville, in 1992, where they have since resided. Mrs. Smith was a very social person, who enjoyed visiting with and interacting with people. She thrived at role of wife, mother and homemaker. For several years while living in Pennsylvania, she did bookkeeping in her husband's business, Smith Mobil, in New Britain, PA. Mrs. Smith was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship Church, Boonville. She began her regular attendance at the gym in later years. She greatly enjoyed walking and being active. In addition to her husband, Wilbur, Joan is survived by two sons, Robert E. (Melissa) Smith, Quakertown, PA, William A. (Pamela) Smith, Boonville, NY, three grandsons, Brian (Hulda) Smith, and their children, Colin, Aidan and Lauren, all of Colorado Springs, CO, Matthew (Kristina) and their children, Dylan, Maya and Casey, all of Doylestown, PA and Isaiah (Erin) Smith, Boonville, NY. Interment will be in Alder Creek Cemetery in the spring. There will be no services or calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to The Resident Activities Fund at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 232 Academy St. Boonville, NY 13309. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
