Boonville- Joan Allen Rosemyer, 84, entered into the care of the Lord, at her residence, while surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, May 1, 2016, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer 's disease. Joan was born in Utica, on May 1, 1932, a daughter of Joseph and Helen Stuczko Cioccia. She graduated from Utica Catholic Academy. For thirty seven years, she was employed at NY Tel, of Utica, until she retired. On June 22, 1952, Joan was united in marriage with John (Jack) Allen, in Utica, until his passing in January, 1990. On November 30, 1993, Joan was united in marriage with Michael Rosemyer, in Lake Pleasant, until his passing in July, 2014. She loved her camp at Piseco, which she enjoyed for over 40 years. Joan loved playing golf at Lake Pleasant Golf Club and at Glass Hill, Golf Club, Trenton. Joan will be fondly remembered for the wonderful meals which she prepared and the loving skills which she infused into her quilt making. Mrs. Rosemyer was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at St. James, Lake Pleasant and at St. Leo's - St. Ann's after moving to Barneveld, where she was also a member of St. Leo's Altar & Rosary Society and their choir. She was predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth, in 1998. Joan is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Biermann, Utica and Patricia "Peanut" Freeley and her husband, John Senchyna, Boonville; three step children, Joseph (Georgene) Rosemyer, Ft. Plain, Jane (Richard) Heinrich, Holland MI, Kathy (Henry) Jordon, Chesapeake, VA, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Irene Tanoury of MI. Joan's family extends a sincere and heartfelt note of thanks and appreciation to Erica McIntyre, who was always there for "Joanie" and Mike; and to Sandra White for her ability to make Joanie smile often. Her family also sends great appreciation to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. New Hartford. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Leo's - St. Ann's Church, Holland Patent, where Rev. Vincent Long, pastor will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of her family at St. Ann's Cemetery, Wells, NY. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13433.
