Jessie (Genther) Williamson Wilbert, 74, of Osceola Road, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at her residence, while under the care of her loving family, and Lewis County Hospice. Jessie was born in Redfield, on December 8, 1931, a daughter of Gerald and Edna Adsit Genther. She grew up in the vicinity of Point Rock, where she attended rural school, later receiving her high school diploma from Rome Free Academy. She was employed at Griffis Air Force Base of Rome as a secretary, and then as a clerk for the late Howard Urtz at the IGA Grocery Store in West Leyden. On July 2, 1950, Jessie was united in marriage with Charles R. Williamson, Sr., at the Point Rock Methodist Church. After that the couple lived in West Leyden. Mr. Williamson died on September 9, 1987. For thirty years, Jessie was employed at the West Leyden Post Office, first as a letter carrier, and then from 1973 until her retirement in 1991, she was employed as Post Master at the West Leyden Post Office. On February 15. 1992, Jessie was united in marriage with Jerome Wilbert at St. Maryï¿(TM)s Church in West Leyden. She was a member of the West Leyden Reformed Church, and she greatly enjoyed raising flowers, vegetables and bird watching, and playing pitch. She and Jerome enjoyed traveling to Hawaii three times, across the United States twice, to Nova Scotia, and traveling on a tour of Europe for twenty two days. In addition to her husband, Jerome, Jessie is survived by two sons; Charles R. Williamson, Jr., and his wife, Karen, West Leyden, David A. Williamson, and his wife, Susan, Boonville, two daughters; Edna M. Cullings and her husband, Tom, Swancotts Mills, Cathy A. Tillman and her husband, Michael, Clayton, eleven grandchildren; Todd and Jill Williamson, Rachel and David Williamson, Ryan and Katelyn Tillman, Amy Weakley, Thomas Cullings, Dawne Whitcomb, Heather Memery, Amanda Cullings, three great grandchildren; Allen and Kayla Weakley, and Haley Memery, two sisters; Anna Owens, Boonville, Laura Genther, West Winfield, one brother; Robert Genther, North Bay, N.Y, also surviving is one step daughter; Jane Iseneker, and husband, Robert, Lee Center, two step sons; Wayne Wilbert, LA., and Dennis Wilbert, Kenia Peninsula, Alaska. She was predeceased by a sister, Geraldine Baker in 1973, and by two step sons; Keith and Gary Wilbert. Her Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Samuel Macri, Pastor of the Clinton Road Baptist Church of New Hartford will officiate. Interment will be in West Leyden Rural Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
