Boonville - Jessie E. Vollmar, 84, a former resident of Woodgate Drive and more recently Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, passed away suddenly at the nursing home on Monday, December 22, 2008. A native of Port Leyden, she was born on September 3, 1924, to Earl and Ruth Gardner Webster. She grew up in Port Leyden, and graduated from Port Leyden High School. On June 6, 1944, Jessie was united in marriage with Donald Vollmar at the First Congregational Church of Port Leyden. In 1946, the couple moved to Boonville, where she was employed for a total of thirty-six years by the Ethan Allen Furniture Company of Boonville. Her husband, also employed for many years at the furniture factory, passed away on November 21, 1979. Mrs. Vollmar was a very devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Boonville. She greatly loved her family, and was devoted to being a good mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader. She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary and Christine Vollmar, Rochester, and Craig Vollmar, Portland, OR; two grandsons, Michael, Rochester, and Robert, Pacifica, CA; one granddaughter, Jessica, Portland, OR; one great- grandson, Aaron, and one great-granddaughter, Rachael, both of Rochester. She is also survived by a sister, Faithe Burchard, Glens Falls, NY, and a brother, Kenneth Webster, Port Leyden. She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Ernest Webster, and by two sisters, Grace Scouten and Alice Reese. In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services. A graveside service will be held in the spring in Port Leyden Cemetery at a time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Boonville. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., Boonville.
