Boonville- Jennie M. Marsden, 69, of Academy St., wife of Kenneth, passed away while surrounded by the loving care of her husband and family on Thursday, January 5, 2016, at University Hospital, Syracuse. Jennie was born in North Western, on June 26, 1947, a daughter of Lewis A. and Mary E. Moore Sykes. She grew up in North Western, where she attended a rural school, completing her education at Holland Patent Central School. Thereafter Jennie was employed on the assembly line at General Electric and at Mele Mfg. Co. both in Utica. Jennie was united in marriage with Kenneth T. Marsden, Sr. and afterwards she devoted her life to raising her children. For 47 years, through December, 2016, Jennie and Kenneth greatly enjoyed making and selling Christmas wreaths at their home. She also loved buying and selling at garage sales and flea markets and trips to the Turning Stone Casino and playing Bingo. In addition to her loving husband, Kenneth, Jennie is survived by one daughter, Billie Jo (Janaka) Liyanage, Prior Lake, MN; three sons, Kenneth, Jr. (Kimberly) Westernville, Michael A. Sr. (Desiree) Rome, Joseph M. (Alexis) Boonville; eight grandchildren, Stephen and Brandon Burke, Michael and his twin sister, Megan and Leah Marsden, Gracelyn and Logan Marsden, Gabrielle Wells, and two great grandchildren; two sisters, Orvis Beckwith, Floyd, Cathy (Cliff) Foster, Hubbardsville, a brother in law, Wayne Swancott, Sr. Lee Center, a sister in law, Gloria Sykes, Ava; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jennie was predeceased by an infant brother, Dwayne and infant sister, Marlene, a brother, Joseph Sykes; two sisters, Charlotte Swancott and Orris Laplant and her husband, Ronnie; her mother and father; a nephew Todd Laplant; a niece, Deborah Beckwith; and a brother in law, Earl Beckwith. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life, on Saturday, January 21, 2017, beginning at 1 P.M. at Boonville Elks Lodge (down stairs), on State Rt. 12, Boonville.
