Jeannette Forziati

d. May 2, 2024

Jeannette Forziati departed this life May 2nd, 2024. She leaves behind a huge void in her family and in the lives of anyone who knew her. Her love of life, her big heart, and her infectious laugh will be deeply missed.

Jeannette was born in Springfield, Massachusetts to Gabriel and Frances Forziati. After graduating high school, she went on to beauty school and opened and ran her beauty salon in Springfield for many years. After retiring from her beauty salon Jeannette still needed to be around people so she became host and greeter at the Olive Garden in Springfield from the day it opened and for many years until her health no longer allowed. She made many lifelong friends of both co workers and customers in which she still kept in touch with decades later.

Since a child she would spend her summers in this village with her Aunt Jeannette, whom she was named after, and Uncle Ed Nellenback of Main st until their death. She continued to keep in touch with and visit her childhood friends here whenever possible. Jeannette would often recall and reminisce of great memories of the Boonville Fair, blackberry picking, going to the Elks Club with her Uncle Eddy and many more. She was also known to leave her Aunt Jeannette with a few extra grey hairs by the time she left to go back home.

She was known for her unconditional love of her family and friends, her love of animals and consuming enormous amounts of pasta that would leave people in awe. Jeannette could get people laughing anytime, anyplace. At every big family dinner Jeannette would have every person seated at the table in tears of laughter by pulling some prank or just making eye contact since people knew something was coming. You could always count on her for a funny and sometimes inappropriate remark. Her laughter was irresistibly infectious. This is just one of the many things that Jeannette brought to our lives that we will cherish and miss forever.

If the sun was out Jeannette could be found outside enjoying it in a chair or in the pool with a Rottweiler by her side. She loved all animals and donated to many rescue organizations. She would help any animal she could and her family would sometimes need to step in so she didn't take in any stray animal that showed up at her door. Every meal she had, she would save the last few bites for the pets. She loved everyone she met and would make new friends nearly everywhere she'd go since she would find the good in every person.

She will be deeply missed. Thank you Mom, Sister, Aunt and friend for the lifetime of laughter, love and memories.

Jeannette leaves behind her son Jeff, her sister Marilynn, her brother Doug. She leaves her nieces Christine and Gina and nephew David and their mother Carolyn. Two great nieces and one great niece on the way. Many close friends and extended family in Massachusetts, New York, Virginia Beach and beyond. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile Springfield and more recently the Syracuse chapter. The family will be doing a private Celebration of Life at a date to be determined.
