Jean Marie Kotary, 77, formerly of Boonville, and currently a resident of Surprise, AZ passed away on June 8, 2010. Jean Marie was born in Boonville on August 6, 1932, a daughter of Eugene Michael and Mary Pearl (Burns) Kotary. For the first eight years of her life she lived in the Boonville Hotel, which her father and mother owned and operated. In 1940 she moved with her family to their residence on Moose River Road, the former William Commerford Fish Hatchery. Jean Marie graduated from Boonville Central School in 1949 and from Central City Business Institute in 1951. She was very active in sports throughout high school and college. After her college graduation she began working for for the Federal government in Rome, NY. After her marriage and beginning a family, she moved to Arizona in 1966. Following several years of being a homemaker she returned to work at Luke AFB in Arizona, eventually retiring in 1998. Survivors include four children, Michael (Sandy) Witzigman, Michelle Witzigman, William Witzigman, and Tracey (Derek) LaRue; four grandchildren, Nicole Pierson, Nicole Witzigman, and Nicolas and Evan LaRue; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Patrick Kotary of Boonville. She was predeceased by her parents and three brothers, Thomas Kotary, Michael Kotary and Thomas Kotary II. A memorial service was held on June 12, 2010 at Sunwest Funeral Home in El Mirage, AZ.
