Boonville- Jean L. Woolschlager, 91, a longtime resident of Post St. and wife of T. Paul, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare, New Hartford, while surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born near Boonville, on December 28, 1927, on the Jackson Homestead Farm on Jackson Hill Road, a daughter of Louis D. and Bernice Jenks Jackson. Jean graduated from Boonville Central High School, with the Class of 1946 and graduated from St. Elizabeths School of Nursing of Utica, earning her registered Nurse Degree with the Class of 1949. Thereafter Mrs. Woolschlager was employed as a Registered Nurse in private duty, for Dr. Robert Smith of Boonville, at Boonville Central School, and finally for many years in several departments of Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, retiring in 1985. On November 19, 1949, Jean was united in marriage with Paul Woolschlager at Trinity Episcopal Church, Boonville. This was a blessed union of 69 years. Jean was a member of First Baptist Church, Boonville, a Past Matron of Salma Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Boonville, and a member of Boonville Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary. For many years she served the fire company and her community as a Level Three EMT on the Boonville Fire Department Ambulance, logging a total of 800 trips. She greatly enjoyed her family, cooking, reading, raising flowers traveling, camping and various church activities. For many years Jean and Paul spent summers in Boonville, and winters in Ellington, Fla. Together they enjoyed traveling through 49 of the 50 United States, and also two trips of touring throughout Europe. Jean and Paul also enjoyed hiking in the Adirondack Mountains, boating, snowmobiling and skiing. Jean is survived by her husband, Paul, one son, Gary (Donna) Woolschlager, Cicero; two daughters, Patricia Weiler, Beverly (Mike) Naperkowski, all of Boonville; grandchildren, Adrian (Amy) Weiler, Angela (Mike) Cihocki, Boonville and Jessica (Richard) Sommers, Rome; great grandchildren, Robert and Mia Weiler and Luke Cihocki, all of Boonville and John Sommers, Rome. Also surviving is a brother in law, Hawley (Laurie) Woolschlager, Wenatchee, Washington State and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Burial will be in the spring in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home, where members of the Lake Delta, Mappa and Salma Chapter # 193, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet for a service on Friday, at 3:30 P.M. Members of Boonville Fire Department will call in a group at the funeral home on Friday, at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Ambulance Fund P.O.
