Port Leyden - Janna Lee (Santamour) Scouten, 40, of North Pearl Street, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Lewis County General Hospital following a heroic and courageous battle with a long illness. Janna was born in Carthage on October 18, 1969, a daughter of James E. and Jeannie B. (Barrow) Santamour. She grew up on Cherry Street in Lyons Falls, and attended Lyons Falls Elementary School. While in high school, she attended B.O.C.E.S. in Glenfield. Studying cosmetology, she graduated from South Lewis Senior High School in Turin with the Class of 1988. On August 31, 1991, she was united in marriage with James H. Scouten at St. John's Church, Lyons Falls. Janna loved her husband and family; they were the joy of her life. In addition to her husband, Jim, she is survived by her beloved "four legged family" of two dogs, Brennon, and Drake, and two cats, Grace and Madison; her parents, James and Jeannie of Lyons Falls; two sisters and their husbands, Jody and Chris Parry of Port Leyden, and Jennifer and Jason Conway of Boonville; a brother and his wife, James T. and Kelly Santamour of Port Leyden; maternal grandmother, Emma Wheeler of Holland Patent; her mother- and father-in-law, James and Nancy Scouten of Port Leyden; a sister-in-law, Chris Bauer, and a brother-in-law and his wife, John and Sarah Scouten, all of Port Leyden; nieces and nephews that she thought of as her children, Matthew, Michael, Marcie, Rian, Shyann, Savanah, Emmalee, Taylor, Evan, and Tristan; two grandnieces, Aryanna and Raelynn, and one grandnephew, Jaden. Her funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, with interment to follow at Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls. Visitation is Monday 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Port Leyden Fire and Ambulance Fund.
