Janette A. Ingersoll

February 21, 1954 — March 21, 2021

Ava - Janette Anne Ingersoll, 67, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with liver disease and COPD on March 21, 2021 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. Janette was born on February 21, 1954 in Rome, a daughter of Robert A. and Nellie Mae Beckwith Valencourt. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy with the Class of 1974. On November 9, 1974 Janette was united in marriage with William E. Ingersoll at the Griffiss Air Base Chapel in Rome. Janette was a homemaker and loving mother who raised their daughter Heather, while traveling with William to various air force bases including Dover, Griffiss, and Keflavik AFB, Iceland. For seven months Janette accompanied William to Saudi Arabia, until the beginning of the Persian Gulf War. She then returned to NY and settled their home in Ava where she has since lived. Family was very important to Janette and she was also instrumental in the upbringing of her two grandsons, nieces and nephews. Janette was predeceased by her mother and father, a sister Karen Satterly, brothers: David and Bruce Valencourt, and her husband William on December 21, 2015. She is survived by her daughter Heather Ingersoll, Ava, grandsons: Brandon S. Platt and Bret M. Platt, her brothers: Robert Hill, Dennis Valencourt, and Joseph Seigler, and sister Linda (William) Young. Her family would like to extend a note of appreciation to the 3rd floor staff of St. Joseph's Hospital for taking such great care of Janette and her family during this difficult time. Also a very special and sincere thank you to Dr. Ajay Goel. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 2-5 pm at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
