Boonville, NY & Melborne Beach, FL- Janet R. Denslow, 85, wife of Bruce K. Sr., passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where she had resided since April. Janet was born on February 21, 1929 in Utica, a daughter of Jay Howard and Maude Powell Rice. She grew up in Utica and Beaver Falls, before her family settled in Boonville. Here she received her education graduating with the Class of 1946 from Boonville High School. For a short time she was employed as a secretary for the telephone company in Boonville. On January 1, 1948, Janet was united in marriage with Bruce K. Denslow. Following their marriage the couple settled on the East Road, where they raised their family and resided for more than 50 years. Mrs. Denslow was employed as the secretary and treasurer of the family's business, Denslow Equipment and Excavating Co. Inc., Boonville. For many years Janet and Bruce enjoyed trips to Florida. Following their retirement they purchased a home in Melborne Beach, where they resided for the winter months. Janet is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bruce; her children: Alan and his wife, Joanne, Cape Coral, FL, Brad and his wife Chris, Norcross, GA, Janette Liddle and her husband Craig, Palm Harbor, FL, Bruce K., Jr. "Butch" and his wife Jan, Jim and his wife Judy, and Lynn and his wife Mollie, all of Boonville, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her sister Helen Dustin. Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St., Boonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 232 Academy St. Boonville, NY 13309, Attn: Resident Activities Fund.
