Jane Hall Blakeslee

December 2, 1919 — December 4, 2015

Utica- Jane (Hall) Blakeslee, 96, widow of Fred W., passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Masonic Care Community, Utica. She was born on December 2, 1919, on the Hall homestead on Potato Hill Road, near Boonville, a daughter of Garry J. and Lulu Marcy Hall. Jane grew up on lower Main St. in Boonville, and graduated from Boonville High School with the Class of 1937. Thereafter she furthered her education by attending Syracuse University and Canton ATI, where she earned a degree as a Registered Dietician. During World War II, Mrs. Blakeslee was employed as a dietician at Grace New Haven Hospital, New Haven Ct; after that she was employed as a dietician in other locations. On June 14, 1951, she was married to Fred W. Blakeslee at the home of the bride in Boonville. After their marriage the couple lived on the Powell Road near Holland Patent, where Mr. Blakeslee was employed as superintendent of area schools. After that the couple lived in Pine Bush, NY, before moving to Acacia Village at the Masonic Care Community, in 1997. Jane was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Boonville, and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She served as church organist in Pine Bush and loved hand crafts. Jane was predeceased by her husband, Fred, on February 8, 2015, and by her brother, William Hall, on April 26, 2015. She is survived by a sister in law, Geraldine (Jerry) Hall, Greensboro, NC, and by nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside memorial service on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at 10:00 at Boonville Cemetery by the Rev Joe Feller. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 325 Post Street Boonville, NY 13309. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home in Boonville.
