Boonville- James M. Allen, 71, of Wheelock Drive, passed away at St. Luke's Home, New Hartford on Thursday, June 4, 2015, following a lengthy illness. Jim was born on May 6, 1944 the son of James and Delema Messick Allen in Millville, New Jersey. He grew up in Millville, where he graduated from high school. Upon graduation Jim enlisted in the Unites States Navy, where he served as a submariner overseas, during the Vietnam Conflict. On July 31, 1972, James was united in marriage with Christine Palozie in Broadbrook, CT. For a time the couple lived in Miami, FL, before moving to Boonville in December 1977. Mrs. Allen, a real estate agent with Century 21 Real Estate Co., Boonville passed away on May 9, 2012. Jim had a passion for motorcycles and enjoyed the open road on his BMW. He was a member of the Harland J. Hennesy VFW Post #5538, and the Charles J. Love Post #406 American Legion, both in Boonville. Jim enjoyed his Apple computers, and the many fishing trips he took with Chris to upstate New York lakes, rivers, and Lake Ontario. He is survived by his sister Delema Shular, Boonville, and his niece Aishie Lindula, Idaho Falls, Idaho. A Memorial Service will be on Sunday at 2:30 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, where a visitation will be from 12:30 until the services begin.
