James H. 'Jim' Cihocki

March 31, 1945 — April 5, 2015

West Leyden- James H. Cihocki, 70, of Apple Road, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Albany Medical Center, Albany, after a brief illness. He was born in Rome, on March 31, 1945, a son of Frank J. and Sophie A. Podkowka Cihocki. Jim grew up on the Rhimiller Rd, and graduated from West Leyden High School, with the Class of 1963. While in high school he participated on the Soccer and Basket Ball Team. He was first employed at the West Leyden Farmers Cooperative Milk Plant. For many years he was employed as a machinist for Bartell Machine Co. Rome, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, West Leyden and the Henry Schmoker Fish & Game Club of West Leyden. Jim greatly enjoyed hunting and playing soft ball. He is survived by three sons, Daniel (Lisa) Cihocki, Ava, Scott (Jeni) Cihocki, Glenfield, and William (Sharon) Cihocki, Boonville, eight grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Cihocki, and Ronald A. Cihocki, both of West Leyden; one sister, Bertha Goodhines, Boonville. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank, Jr. and by a sister, Stella "Pep" Marsden. Services will be private at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to West Leyden Fire Company, West Leyden, NY 13489 His arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
