Rome - Jack Ragnar Eikevik, 60, passed away suddenly, in the comfort of his home on June 22, 2021. Jack was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 10, 1961 a son of Arne and Aase Eikevik. He grew up in Merrick, Long Island, New York where he received his education, graduating from Sanford H. Calhoun High School with the Class of 1979. Jack then attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College, receiving his Associates Degree in Forestry and Conservation. Jack then returned to Brooklyn, NY, where he was employed for florists working in their nursery and greenhouses, as well as decorating the lobbies and landscaping interior gardens of the major hotels of Manhattan. After his parents purchased the Towpath Inn, in Turin, NY, Jack moved to northern NY to assist them in the daily operation of their business. For a time Jack worked as a DJ for the local radio station W.B.R.V. in Boonville, and was also employed as a chef at the Steak & Brew, Turin, and more recently had worked at Chester's Flower Shop & Greenhouse in Utica. Jack loved nature, adored animals and enjoyed skiing. He is survived by his sister Kristin (Frank) Scutaro, Constableville, niece Sonja Scutaro, Boonville, nephew Capt. Joseph Scutaro, USAF (Kaitlyn), San Antonio, TX, uncle Jan-Henry (Anne) Eikevik, cousins: Janne Eikevik, Camilla Eikevik and their families, all of Sauda, and several other cousins in Norway. He was predeceased by his father Arne in 2003 and his mother Aase in 2015. Jack is also survived by his long-time friend and companion, David M. Luciano. Graveside services will be held in Turin Cemetery on Saturday, June 26 at 1:00 pm. There are no calling hours.
