Forestport- Jack Arnold Reising, age 72, of Woodhull Road, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at his residence.
Jack was born in Rome, on May 14, 1950, a son of Leon and Dorothy Bielby Reising. He graduated from Clinton High School, with The Class of 1968 and joined the U.S. Army in 1969, serving his country in the Vietnam War, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He also served in Germany and in the National Guard and Army Reserves. He was mobilized after the 911 attacks, to serve with the Army Corp of Engineers, from 2002-2010.
Later, Jack was employed at the Oneida County Office Building, retiring after 30 years, as an investigator for the Department of Social Services.
On August 14, 1999, Jack was united in holy matrimony with Mary Beth Christensen, at St. Patrick’s Church, Forestport.
Jack was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 490, The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 944, the Taberg American Legion and the Rome V.F.W.
Jack was a devoted fan of the Buffalo Bills Football Team and the Utica Comets. He also enjoyed boating and golfing and most of all Jack enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
In addition to his wife, Mary Beth Reising, Jack is survived by four daughters, and one son; Jennifer (Eric) Armstrong, Jack Resing, Jr., and Sarah Moffat, Kerri (Ben) Morris, Dawn Reising and Jeff Egelston, Samantha (Charles) Vanderworken; ten grandchildren, Eric, Andrew, Josh Armstorng, Alyssa and Austin Reising, MaKenzy and Zachery Morris, Julian Egelston, Abigale and Emily Vanderworken; five brothers and sisters, Terry Campbell, Douglas Reising, Lou Ann and Dick Hillage, Sue Ann Callahan and Terry Newton, Leon Resign, III and Sue and one sister in law, Betty Sweet and Carla and John Christensen and Casey Stevenson.
Jack was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Leon and two siblings, David Lee and Linda Lou.
Jack will be fondly remembered as a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Matthew Rawson, on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 11:00 A.M., at St. Patrick’s Church, Forestport. A spring interment with Military Honors, will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
