Remsen- Helen P. Pfendler, 75, of Evans Road, Wife of Arthur Scott, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where she had resided since 2016. Helen was born in Remsen, on June 25, 1943, a daughter of Roy W. and Thelma Tanney Ingersoll. She attended Remsen Central School, before moving to Forestport with her family, where she grew up at Buffalo Head and completed her education at Forestport High School. Later Helen earned her GED and an Associate Degree from Utica School of Commerce. On June 25, 1960, Helen was united in marriage with Arthur Scott Pfendler, at The First Baptist Church of Boonville. In 1963, the couple settled on Kirkland Road, Forestport, where they resided until moving to their present home near Remsen, in 2000. For thirteen years Helen was employed as a waitress at The Buffalo Head Restaurant, Forestport, followed by employment as an electrical inspector at Hamilton Digital Co., Utica, General Electric, Utica, for fifteen years and at Par Technology, New Hartford, until her retirement in 2007. Helen enjoyed raising flowers, puttering around her yard and reading. In addition to her husband, Arthur Scott, Remsen, she is survived by one daughter, Royanne (Duke) Sprowell, Forestport. She was predeceased by a son, Wade S. Pfendler, on November 12, 2015. Also surviving are three grandsons, William, Dennis and Matthew Sprowell, seven great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters in law, Roy James (Joan) Ingersoll, and William C. (Barbara) Ingersoll, and her sister Nancy Ingersoll, all of Forestport. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 2, at 12:00 Noon at the Forestport Presbyterian Church, Woodhull Road, Forestport. There are no calling hours. Funeral Arrangements are in care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Marys/St. Patricks Food Pantry, 9004 E.
