Helen E. Cullings

Helen E. (Skinner) Cullings, 78, a long time resident of Gallo Road, widow of Rolland W. Cullings, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2007, at Rome Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since January 2. Helen was born in Camden, on April 26, 1928, a daughter of Edward and Alice Waterman Skinner. She grew up in Camden, where she attended school. On November 2, 1946, Helen was united in marriage with Rolland W. Cullings in Camden. After that the couple moved to Gallo Road in the Hamlet of Swancott Mills. Mr. Cullings died on December 29, 1993, and after that she moved to the Rome Mall Apartments, where she lived until August of 2006, when she moved to the home of her son and daughter in law, Stephen and Cindi Cullings, Swancott Mills. She was a member of St. Johnï¿(TM)s Lutheran Church of Rome. Helen was an avid reader and student of the Holy Bible. Her other interests, other than her family, she enjoyed guitar playing, dancing to country western music, sewing, and baking. Her survivors include five daughters and sons in law: Mary Lou and Gerald Roberts, Laurel and Robert Perry, both of Rome, Dorothy and John Bielawski, Lee Center, Gail and Thomas VanEtten, Pickens, SC., Sherry-Mathis Nembhard and Patrick, Key West, Fla., four sons and daughters in law; Nolan and Sharon Cullings, Rolland T. and Edna Cullings, Stephen and Cindi Cullings, and Joseph and Sharon Cullings, all of Taberg. Also surviving are thirty one grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, one brother, Merton (Bud) Miller, Rome, and a special friend, Craig Anderson. Helen was predeceased by two daughters; Deborah Elaine, in 1960, and Catherine Myrtle in 1962, one sister, Mildred Skinner, one brother, Milton Miller. Her Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. Charles Hanna, pastor of St. Johnï¿(TM)s Lutheran Church of Rome will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Lee. Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the funeral home.
