Harold G. Linck, 84, a resident of East Road since 1954, husband of Shirley Newman Linck, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2007, at the Masonic Care Community, Utica, where he had resided since January 2005. Harold was born in the Linck family homestead farm on the West Road near Constableville. He graduated from Consableville High School with the Class of 1941. In 1942, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the United States and in the Pacific Theater of W.W. II. He was honorably discharged from the Marines in 1946, returning to Constableville. For a time after that Harold was employed as a truck driver for logging companies. On October 11, 1952, Harold was united in marriage with Shirley Newman at the Boonville United Methodist Church. In 1951, Mr. Linck began his employment with General Electric Co. of Utica, where he was employed in various divisions until his retirement in 1987. From the 1960ï¿(TM)s Mr. Linck was employed part time as an electrical repairman for Mr. Carl G. Marcy, of Marcy Amusements in Boonville. Harold continued in this position until Mr. Marcy retired. Harold was a member of the Tun Tavern Marine Corps League of Boonville, Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W. of Boonville, and the Tucker Automobile Club of Detriot, MI. His favorite hobby was rebuilding and reparing player pianos, and other electrical products. In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by one daughter Valerie Linck-Wilson and husband, Tom, Chester, Vt. He was predeceased by one brother, Anthony Linck, and by two sisters; Elizabeth Hoage, and Esabelle Linck. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, January 6, at 2:00 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. William A. Mudge, Pastor of the Boonville United Methodist Church will officiate. Members of the Charles J. Love Post American Legion, Harland J. Hennessey Post V.F.W., and the Tun Tavern Marine Corps League will render military rites at the funeral home immedatley at the conclusion of the serivces. There are no calling hours.
