Boonville - Harold A. Glouse, Sr., 87, of Woodgate Drive and formerly of West Road, Constableville, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Mr Glouse was born on January 6, 1922 at the Glouse family farm on the Mackey Road to John and Harriett Johnson Glouse. He grew up in the Constableville and Boonville areas and attended school in Boonville. Mr. Glouse served as an auto equipment mechanic and member of a salvage unit of the 3050th Ordnance Service Company, U.S. Army stationed in Japan during the conclusion of WWII. Following his honorable discharge he purchased the DeVoe Farm on the East Road. Harold was united in marriage with Marjorie Lee on August 2, 1946 at the .Boonville Baptist Church. The couple purchased the Wheeler farm on the West Road in 1961, which they operated until they moved to Boonville. Mrs. Glouse died on January 17, 2001. Mr. Glouse was employed as a Quality Control Milk Inspector for the Lowville Producers Co-op from 1974 until he retired in 1988. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boonville. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at this hunting camp near Woodgate. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Ann Glouse, Jr., of Boonville; two grandchildren, Shana Hosmer and her husband, Kevin, and William Glouse and his wife, Sarah, all of Boonville; and three great-grandchildren, Kylee, Taylor, and Brenna. He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Walter, and a sister, Myrtle Elgosin. His funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville, where the Reverend Joseph Feller, pastor of Boonville Baptist Church, and the Reverend Matthew Ripp, former pastor of Boonville Baptist Church will co-officiate. Interment will be in West Leyden Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 12-1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Baptist Church or to Boonville Fire Co.
