Port Leyden - Glenn Brian Redmond, 52, of Elm Street, passed away in the comfort of his home on Friday, October 18, 2019 while under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice. Glenn was born on November 26, 1966 in Lowville, a son of Glenn and Joanne White Redmond. Following his graduation from South Lewis Senior High School in 1985, he went to work for Kiewit Construction Co., Lyonsdale. For a time Glen also worked construction in Florida and Wisconsin. In 1993, Glenn moved to Connecticut, where he met Marie Foster, the couple wed a short time later in Forest Park, NY. The couple settled in Noank, CT where he went to culinary school. Glenn was employed in fine dining restaurants in Connecticut until 1998 when he moved back to Port Leyden following a separation from Marie. Glenn was then employed as a chef for area restaurants including the Buffalo Head, Hotel Parquet, Mountain Dog, and Roaring Brook. For over ten years, Glenn also cut and sold firewood. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, was talented at making wooden signs, and enjoyed throwing darts. He is survived by his mother and step-father: Joanne Fahey (Papa Tom Prior), his father and step mother: Glenn (Cindy) Redmond, all of Port Leyden, a sister Renea (Danny) Wunderlin, Connecticut, brother Ricky (Kim) Redmond, Port Leyden, step-sister Wendy Flansburg, New Hampshire, maternal grandmother Helen White, Boonville, nieces: Ashley Palmer and Stephanie Redmond, nephews: David Palmer, Dylan (Brook) Wunderlin, and Brady Redmond, aunts: Sonja Skidmore, Carol (Bob) Sperry, and uncles Bill and Joe White. Glenn was especially fond of his great-nieces Aleighna, Layla, Adeline and Quinn, who he called his sunshine, as well as his great-nephew Logan. He is also survived by his dogs Lucy and Luke. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents: Glenn and Bessie Redmond, maternal grandfather Joe White, uncle Jeff White, and his beloved dog Troy. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 25, at 1:00 pm at the Lyons Falls Bible Fellowship Church with Pastor Jeff Ford officiating. In keeping with Glenns wishes there will be no calling hours. Interment will be held at a later date in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls.
