Boonville- George H. Youngs, Sr. 88, a long time resident, of North Pfendler Road, husband of the late Nellie, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013, at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, after a short illness. A native of Boonville, he was born on the Gorge Road, on December 22, 1924, a son of William H. and Alice M. Young Youngs. For a time during his youth his family lived on the Snyder Farm, Rt. 12 Port Leyden. He received his education in Port Leyden, later returning to Boonville. He lived in Springville, (Erie Co) NY where he met his wife. Later George was employed at Sweeney Lumber Co. Lyons Falls, before his employment for nearly 30 years at Burnett & Iseneker, Inc. Feed Mill of Boonville. Mr. Youngs was united in marriage with Nellie Brooks, on July 30, 1960, in Connecticut. In 1961, the couple settled at their present home on North Pfendler Road, near Boonville. Mrs. Youngs died on October 11, 2001. George enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is survived by four children: Jolene Sinclair, Jeff Youngs, George Youngs, Jr, and Judy Fuller; several grandchildren, and great grandchildren; two brothers, Mike (Adeline) Youngs, and Charlie (Marge) Youngs all of Boonville, and one sister, Mitilda Biro, Ava. He was predeceased by his youngest son, Robert, in 1991, his son in law, Harry Sinclair and three sisters, Pearl Hutchins, Isabelle Buckann and Esther Gleba. Also surviving is his adopted family, Dave Myers, Erin Brach, and children, many nieces, and nephews, and his best friend and dog, "Chaz." He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His family wishes to thank the Senior Network, the staff at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, of Boonville, for the kindness and care they extended to George. His Funeral will be Sunday at 4:00 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Pastor Robert Dean of the Boonville United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 P.M. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Co.
