George H. Spink

~~ Boonville- George H. Spink, 70, of Old Hawkinsville Road, husband of Susan, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017, at Waterville Nursing Home, where he had resided since June, 2017. George was born in North Bay, on April 17, 1947, a son of George H. and Emily Pierre Spink, Sr. He received his education at Rome Free Academy, later attending M.V.C.C. where he studied Culinary Arts. Mr. Spink was first employed at General Cable Co., Rome, followed by thirty five years of employment at Revere Copper & Brass Co. Rome, where he retired as product inspector in 2009. On September 28, 1968, George was united in marriage with Susan A. Sullivan, at St. Josephs Church, Boonville. This was a loving union which endured for nearly 50 years. After their marriage the couple lived in Westernville and Lee Center, later living in Talcottville, before moving to their present home near Boonville many years ago. George enjoyed cooking, barbequing, reading about local history, driving around the North County and doing cross word puzzles. He greatly loved his wife and family; in addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by his children; George and wife Lora Spink, St. Louis, MO, Sandra Coffin, Rome, Jeff Spink and his wife, Pattie, Boonville, Courtney and fiance Rob Burke, Utica, several grandchildren; at the present time George was joyfully anticipating the birth of his first great grandchild. Also surviving are sisters, Barbara and husband Jim Wardell, Verona, Ellie DeVaul, Fulton, Pattie and Fred Murray, Florida and Emily and Charles Martin, VA. He was predeceased by a sister, Marge Mango. In keeping with Georges wishes there will be no services or visitation hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Boonville Fire Co. Ambulance Fund P.O. Box 164, Boonville, NY 13309, or to the American Diabetes Association 110 Lomond Ct. Utica, NY 13502. His arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville.
