Gary M. Gleasman, 47, of Moose River Road, husband of Lana (Hutchins) Gleasman, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2006, at St. Faxton-St. Lukes Hospital, New Hartford, after a heroic five month battle with cancer. Gary was born in Utica, on October 20, 1958, a son of Harley R. and Jean Goodhines Gleasman. He grew up in High Market, before moving to Moose River Road near Boonville. Gary graduated from Adirondack Senior High School with the Class of 1976. While in high school, Gary studied carpentry at B.O.C.E.S. of Glenfield, and during high school his first employment was in the operation of his parents Montgomery Ward Store in Boonville. After that he was employed at Revere Copper & Brass of Rome. Gary was a highly skilled carpenter, he spent his entire carpentry career in home construction, being employed for Law Bros. Construction Co. of Lyons Falls, for the past eight years he was employed for Bradley Construction Co. of Barneveld. He was especially talented at sheet rocking walls. On April 7, 1979, Gary was united in marriage with Lana L. Hutchins at Boonville United Methodist Church. He greatly enjoyed snowmobile racing, and during his high school years, Gary was involved in sled racing at the Boonville Snow Festival. He had a life long interest in hunting, fishing, trapping and the out of doors, an interest that he learned and sharred with his father, then teaching and sharring the same out of door interests with his son, Travis. Gary and his family especially enjoyed spending time at the Gleasman family camp on the Woodhull River near Forestport. In addition to his wife, Lana, Gary is survived by his one son, Travis M. Gleasman and daughter in law; Becky, Boonville, one daughter, Ashley L. Gleasman, and her fiance, JessieRingwald, Ava, one grandson; Bailey W. Gleasman, his parents, Harley and Jean Gleasman, Boonville, and by one brother, Philip D. Gleasman, Boonville. Gary was predeceased by a sister, Laurie Ann Gleasman, January 10, 1966. He is also survived by his father and mother in law; Gerald F. and Shirley J. Hutchins, Boonville, three sisters in law; three brothers in law; several nieces, and nephews and by his dog, "Buddy." His Funeral will be Friday at 12 Noon at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. William A. Mudge, Pastor of the Boonville United Methodist Church will officate. Interment will be in Boonville Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral.
