Verona- Gail (Jones) Parsons, 81, of West Main St. and a former resident of Boone Street, Boonville, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Oneida Health Hospital.
Gail was born in Rome, on March 8, 1943, the daughter of Donald W. and Minnie Salmon Jones. She grew up on Boone St. Boonville and graduated from Boonville Central School, with the Class of 1961. Later for many years she was employed as a Therapy Aide, at Rome Developmental Center.
On April 27, 1963, Gail was married to Ronald Joseph Parsons, at St. Joseph’s church, Boonville. Afterwards the couple lived in Remsen and operated the Toll Gate Inn Bar and Restaurant, on Rt. 12, near Remsen and later moved to Sherrill. Gail returned to Boonville after the couple was divorced, where she resided for several years, before moving to Verona.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and cats. She also loved antiques and was skilled at repairing and refinishing them.
Gail is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Maria) Parsons, Syracuse; Dawn (Kevin) Bates, Webster, NY, and Gregory (Gail) Parsons, Verona; grandchildren, Alexandria, Gabriella, Victoria, Allyson, Kevin, Tyler, Zack, Brittany, Dylan and two great grandchildren, Liam and Rylie Mae. She was predeceased by her brother, Norman Jones.
Her Funeral will be on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 12 Noon, at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Deacon James Chaufty, from the South Lewis Catholic Churches, will officiate. Interment will be in the spring in Carmichael Hill Cemetery, Town of Western. Calling hours are Saturday, from 10:00 A.M., until the funeral at Noon, at the funeral home.
