Frederick A. Taylor, Sr., 82, a former resident of Camroden Road, Holland Patent, and currently of the Colonial Apartments, on St. Peter's Ave., Rome, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 9, 2008. Mr. Taylor was born in Croghan, on December 15, 1925, a son of Mary M. Martin. He grew up in the Steuben and Westernville area, attending the Town of Western Rural School. In 1961, he moved from Beeches Bridge, near Lowville, to the Camroden Road, where he lived until 2006. For ten years he was employed as a custodian at Broadacres Skilled Nursing Home, in Deerfield. He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Frederick was united in marriage with Leona May Clemons in Floyd. Mrs. Taylor died on July 13, 1995. His survivors include five sons; Frederick A., Jr., and wife, Susan, Boonville, Peter and wife Isabell, Avinger, TX., Steven and Mary Gruby, Westernville, Jerry, Utica, Elwin C., and Veronica Murphy, Westernville, one daughter; Virginia Taylor Reichard and Husband, Donald, Rome, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, two step daughters; Janet and husband, LeRoy Toth, Lyons Falls, Norma Allen, Fla., and a step brother, Morris Ingersoll, Westernville. He was predeceased by a step son, Lyle Hoage in 1992, and by two brothers; Wilbur and Harley. A memorial service will be Tuesday at 8:00 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where Rev. William A. Mudge, pastor of the Boonville United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Martinsburg Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
