Rome- Frank E. Larrivey, 82, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Sunset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Boonville. Frank was born in Utica, June 11, 1933, a son of the late Richard D. and Rosella Hoffman Larrivey. In his early life, his family moved to Boonville, NY. He received his education from Boonville High School and graduated with the class of 1951. On June 7, 1958 in St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Piatkowski, daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Sosnowski Piatkowski. After graduation, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Navy on October 14, 1952. He received his basic training at the U.S. Naval Training Center, Bainbridge, MD. He also attended the Hospital Corpsman School while at Bainbridge. After graduation he served at Portsmouth, NH, and Newport, RI. On October 1955, he was transferred to the US Marine Corp, Camp Pendleton, California. He served is the far east, with the 12th Marines, 3rd Marine Division (REIAF) FMF, serving in Japan and Okinawa. He returned to the States and was separated from the U.S. Navy and was transferred to the U.S. Naval (Inactive) Reserves for four years. In Oct. 1960 he received his honorable discharge from the United States Navy with the rank of Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class (HM3). He was employed at Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome, in the 416th Civil Engineering Section, in the electrical High Voltage Department. He retired on December 1989 with over 30 years of service. He was a life member of the Tun Tavern Leathernecks Marine Corps League, Detachment #961, Boonville; a charter and Life member of the Boonville Elks #2158 and life member of NARFE, Rome. Frank is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann, his sister Gertrude Brown and Brother Richard "Dick" Larrivey, many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two special nieces Caroline (Glenn) Muha and Linda (Earl) Zimmer, who when Frank was in the Marines would send cookies, cakes, fudge or a special card. Frank was predeceased by his parents, brothers John and Rolan "Bud;" his sisters Muriel Muha, Mildred "Midge" Lisowski, and an infant Laura Elizabeth Larrivey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 12, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, with Rev. Thomas Ward officiating. Interment with Military honors will be held this spring in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Boonville. There are no calling hours.
