Boonville- Francis James Dolan, 83, affectionately known as Jim, husband of Rosemary, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at his residence while under the loving care of his wife, family and hospice. He was born in New Bremen, on September 30, 1931. Jim grew up in Boonville, where he received his education. At age 16 he began employment for John Egnaczyk, in the operation of Egnaczyk's Dairy of Boonville. After that he was employed for James Capron at Fast Flame Gas Co. and Capron Cement Co. both of Boonville. Beginning in 1952, Mr. Dolan served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, during the Korean Conflict. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army in 1954, he returned to Boonville and resumed his employment with Mr. Capron. On November 19, 1954, Jim was united in marriage with his childhood sweetheart, Rosemary Seelman, at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville. This was a loving union that endured for over 60 years. In the later 1950's they settled at their present home on Summit St. In October, 1963, Jim and Rosemary, and Rosemary's brother, Donald Seelman purchased the American Hotel on Ann St. in Boonville. Together they operated this hotel, bar and grill, until Mr. Seelman died in 1982. After that Jim and Rosemary have continued to operate the hotel until the present time. Jim was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, and a longtime member of Boonville Fire Company and a member of Charles J. Love Post America Legion and Harland J. Hennessey Post VFW, both of Boonville. In addition to his wife, Rosemary, he is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Kathryn (Kris) Egnaczyk, and Cheryl (Cameron) Kaiding, all of Boonville; four grandchildren, Leslie and Ryan Pfeiffer, Katelyn Egnaczyk and Matt, Tom Egnaczyk and Sydney, all of Boonville, three great grandchildren, twins, Maddie and Abby Pfeiffer and Machanna Egnaczyk; two brothers, Rev. Donald H. Karlen, retired pastor of Christ Our Hope Parish, Boonville, John and his wife, Mary Karlen, Blossvale; one sister, Nancy and her husband, Dick Goodhines, West Leyden, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jim's Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church, Boonville, where Rev. Donald H. Karlen, his brother, will officiate. There are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Our Hope Catholic Parish, 110 Charles St. Boonville, or to Boonville Fire Co.
