West Leyden- Frances Violet (Bator) Nellenback, 93, of Osceloa Road, widow of Joseph, Sr., passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, on January 23, 1918, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Ziolcorski Bator. At the age of seven she moved with her family to Hawkinsville, where she attended Hawkinsville Rural School, later completing her education at Boonville High School. On June 10, 1936, Frances was united in marriage with Joseph J. Nellenback, Sr., at St. Peter's & Paul's Church, Fish Creek. After that the couple settled on the former Frank farm on Beecher Road, near Fish Creek. They operated this farm until 1944, moving to their present home on Osceola Road in 1945. Thereafter, Mrs. Nellenback was employed for Edna Kime in the operation of Henry Schmokers General Store, West Leyden. From the mid 1950's until her retirement in the early 1980's, she was employed as manager of the West Leyden Central School cafeteria. Mr. Nellenback, a retired foreman in road construction, died on March 2, 1977. Frances was of the Catholic faith, and she was an avid reader and pitch player. Her other interests included raising roses and many kinds of flowers, knitting, crocheting, quilting, and playing horse shoes. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Foulk, Colchester, ILL, and Sandra (Daniel) McKay, Kansas City, MO; four sons, and daughters in law, Anthony and Elaine, West Leyden, John W. and Claudette, Hawkinsville, Joseph G. and Norma, Constableville, Andrew S. and Gloria, Ava, 28 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Frances who died as an infant, and Frances Nellenback Williamson, by one son, Frank Nellenbach, three sisters; Annie Bator Kent, Helen Bator Ritz, Sophie Bator Streter, and by a brother Joseph. Also surviving is a daughter in law, Bonita Nellenback, Rome, a son in law, Richard Williamson, Cleveland, and a sister in law, Lucy Bator, Rome. Her funeral will be Wednesday at 2 P.M. at the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville. Visitation will be held from 11 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the spring will be in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Fish Creek. Frances' family would like to thank the medical staff of the E.R. & I.C.U. of 2 North at Rome Hospital.
