Alder Creek- Frances S. Lenart, 89, widow of Stanley A., passed away while surrounded by the loving care of her family, at the home of her daughter and son in law, Diane and Ted Klotz, on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
Affectionately known as Fran, she was born in Utica, on June 17, 1933, a daughter of Michael and Stella (Bandych) Szewczyk and was raised on Rt.12, Alder Creek. Frances received her education in Boonville, graduating from Boonville Central School, with the Class of 1952.
On June 28, 1952, Frances was united in marriage with Stanley A. Lenart, at St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville. This was a blessed union of 35 years, until Stanley passed away on February 17, 1987. For many years Fran and Stanley operated a dairy farm on Rt. 12; later Mrs. Lenart was employed as a bus driver for Remsen Central School, for over twenty years and as a driver for Oneida County Meals on Wheels for fourteen years.
Fran enjoyed gardening, bird watching, her feline companions and all her other furry friends. She was an avid Yankee fan, and she also enjoyed golfing at Woodgate Pines Golf Course, Boonville and for many years she and Stanley enjoyed participating on bowling teams at the Boonville Bowling Alley. One of her favorite tasks was mowing her lawn, an activity she enjoyed doing well into her 80’s. She was also looked forward to partying with friends at camp on Kayuta Lake.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Forestport, the parish Catholic Women’s Club and a member of Charles J. Love Post American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Boonville.
In addition to her husband, Stanley, Frances was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Michael.
She is survived by one son and daughter in law, Steve (Charlene) Lenart, Remsen; one daughter and son in law, Diane (Ted) Klotz, Remsen; granddaughters, Amber, Lenart, Prospect, Teresa Lenart, Memphis, TN; step grandchildren, Teri and Paul Klotz, both of Tonawanda, NY and a great granddaughter, Corinne Lenart, Prospect.

A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00 A.M., at St. Patrick’s Church, Forestport, where Rev. Matthew Rawson, pastor will officiate. There are no calling hours. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Boonville, in the spring. Following her Memorial Mass, all are invited to attend a reception at The Boonville Elks Lodge, Boonville, on Rt. 12, south of the village. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
