Felicia A. Szot

Boonville- Felicia A. Szot, 92, a former longtime resident of Church St., passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville. Affectionately known as Fay, she was born in Boonville, on March 24, 1925, a daughter of John C. and Victoria Daskiewicz Szot. Fay graduated from Boonville High School, with the Class of 1943; later she graduated from St. Elizabeths School of Nursing of Utica, where she earned a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. For many years Miss Szot was employed as a Registered Nurse, in Boonville, with her brother, Dr. Carl R. Szot. Fay and her mother, Victoria, were renowned cooks and restaurateurs. In addition to her nursing career, for many years, Victoria and Fay operated the Tasty Food Diner, on Main St. Boonville, and later the Remsen Diner, on Rt. 12, at Remsen. She was a member of St. Josephs Church, Boonville. Fay is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, a great-grandniece and great-grandnephew; and a sister in law, Mrs. Inez Szot, Boonville. She was predeceased by two brothers, John C. Szot, in 1990, Dr. Carl R. Szot, in 2010 and a sister in law, Margaret Szot, in 1998. Her Funeral will begin Saturday at 10:15 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Josephs Church, with interment in the spring in St. Josephs Cemetery, both Boonville. Calling hours are Saturday at the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. until the prayer service at 10:15 A.M.
