Taberg- Evelyn A. (Skinner) Burke, 86, formerly of Gossner Road, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Sunset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Boonville, where she had resided since 2017. Evelyn was born in Rome, on March 24, 1934, a daughter of Luther and Mildred Miller Skinner. She grew up in near Camden and received her education at Camden Central School. Thereafter Evelyn was employed at Mystic Stamp Manufacturing Company in Camden. She was united in marriage with Richard Burke and the couple resided on the Yorkland Road, for several years before moving to the Gossner Farm on Gossner Road, where they raised livestock and horses. Mr. Burke passed away on June 4, 2003. Evelyn was a talented baker and especially enjoyed baking many kinds of pie. She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Betty Ann and Lonny Philbrick, Taberg, Elaine and Arthur Martinez, TX; three sons and two daughters in law, Ron and Tammy, Taberg, Mark and Shirley, Florence and Tim, Taberg. She was predeceased by a son, Richard A. Burke, on February 17, 2005. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and four brothers, Luther Skinner, Jr., Richard, Milt, and David, all of Camden; two sisters, Alice Hinkle, CT and Janice Hilts, Camden and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by a sister, Eunice Hicks. A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2021, at Point Rock Cemetery, at a date time to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Taberg Volunteer Fire Department, State Rt. 69, Taberg, NY 13471. Her arrangements are in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.
