Lyons Falls- Eunice B. Sheu, 88, widow of Charles J, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Lewis Country General Hospital, Lowville. She was born in Castorland, on April 30, 1924, a daughter of Norton and Clarice Middleton Blodgett. While a child she moved to Lyons Falls, where she graduated from high school with the Class of 1942, thereafter, she attended Utica School of Commerce. She was employed as a clerk at Gould Paper Company, Lyons Falls, for Continental Can Co., and later with the office staff at Georgia Pacific Paper Co. For many years, Mrs. Sheu was employed as a customer service representative at the Merwin McDonald Insurance Agency, in Lyons Falls and continued working with John McDonald at the McDonald Insurance Agency, Inc. until her retirement in 1985. On April 7, 1956, Eunice was united in marriage with Charles J. Sheu at St. John's Church, Lyons Falls. Mr. Sheu died on December 23, 1967. Mrs. Sheu was a member of Forest Presbyterian Church, Lyons Falls, where she had served as an Elder of the Church and as a member of and Clerk of the Session and she also served as assistant treasurer of the church. She was a member of Dewey Chapter Order of Eastern Star Chapter 420, and she served for twenty years as secretary and treasurer of Wild Wood Cemetery, Lyons Falls. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Ellen Blodgett. There will be a Memorial Service held at 12:00 Noon on Sunday April 14, at the Forest Presbyterian Church, Center St. Lyons Falls, where Rev. Naomi Kelly will officiate. Beginning at 11:00 am there will be a community luncheon at the church which all are welcome to attend. Keeping with Eunice's wished there are no calling hours and her body has been donated for medical research. Her arrangements have been entrusted to the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest Presbyterian Church, Center Street, Lyons Falls, or to the Lyons Falls Fire Dept.
