Boonville- Ethel I. Waite, 93, of 115 South St. Boonville, formerly of Franklin St. Lyons Falls and Felts Mills, widow of Clarence, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the Abraham House Hospice Facility, Utica. Ethel was born in Watertown, on June 27, 1925, a daughter of Frank and Lucy Hall Clark. She grew up in the Felts Mills and Champion areas of Jefferson County, receiving her education at The Old Church School, Champion School District # 4. On April 13, 1956, Ethel was united in marriage with Clarence W. Waite, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1957, the couple moved to Lyons Falls, where they lived on Franklin St. for over 40 years and in 1959, established Waites Auto Service Station, Lyons Falls, where Mrs. Waite was employed as the station office manager for many years. Mr. Waite, a U.S. Army Veteran, who served in the European Theater of WWII, passed away on March 2, 2000. She moved to her present home at Kortenaer Village, Boonville, in 2000. Mrs. Waite was a member of the Boonville Alliance Church, where she served for many years as a Deaconess of the church and was active in many church activities and she also attended the First Baptist Church of Boonville. Her Christian faith and church membership were at the center of her life. She also greatly enjoyed her friends at Kortenaer Village and the art of embroidery. Ethel was a devoted wife and mother who greatly loved her family. She is survived by four sons and two daughters in law; Raymond L. Corey, PA, Roger A. (Rose), Lowville, James C. (Mary Jo) Long Lake, NY and Clarence Waite, Jr., Natural Bridge, and one daughter and son in law, Iris I. (Daniel) Wetzel, Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. The last of her family, Ethel was predeceased by 8 brothers, Clarence, Orville, Lawrence, Oakley, Harold, Keith, Lyle and Douglas. Her Funeral will be on Saturday May 25, at 11:00 A.M. at The Boonville Alliance Church, corner of State Rt. 12 and Potato Hill Road, Boonville, where her son in law, Pastor Daniel Wetzel will officiate. Interment will follow in Felts Mills Cemetery, Felts Mills, NY. Calling hours are Friday 4-7 P.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St., Boonville, and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M until the funeral at the Boonville Alliance Church. Memorial contributions may be made to The Boonville Alliance Church, or to The First Baptist Church of Boonville.
