Elizabeth Lustyik, 93, of Port Leyden passed away on July 3, 2009 at Lewis County General Hospital following a brief illness. Elizabeth was born on September 2, 1915 in Kokomo, IN, a daughter of Andrew and Sophie Miles Toth. On November 24, 1934 she was united in marriage with Joseph Lustyik at Forest Presbyterian Church in Lyons Falls. Joseph died in 1969. Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sophie and Karl Lawrence of Rural Hall, NC, Joanne and John Johnston of Boonville, and Carol Lustyik of Port Leyden; a sister, Margaret Raphael of Verona, NJ; three grandchildren, Julie Johnston-Ahlen, Stephen Lawrence and his wife, Cheris, and Sophia Woronowitz and her husband, Ted; two great-grandchildren, Sophie and Ava Lawrence; a special friend, Sister Mary Oliver Bredin of Graymoor, NY; many nieces and nephews; and her "beloved girls", Abigail and Buffy. Elizabeth was predeceased by three daughters and a son; a brother, Albert Toth, and a sister, Julia Welch. Family and friends will always remember Elizabeth as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. There are no calling hours and funeral services are private. Interment will take place in Port Leyden Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Port Leyden Community Library, 3145 Canal Street, Port Leyden, NY.
